11/13/2005: Delivery Girl (# 2, 10/1) by Truckee, out of Foothill Express, finished 1st at Golden Gate Fields on Sunday, November 13th, 2005 in Race 9. Bonners Ferry (# 7, 7/2) by Truckee, out of Clay Springs, finished 1st at Turf Paradise on Sunday, November 13th, 2005 in Race 7. White Pine, out of Valid Tener (Valid Appeal) finished 1st at Santa Anita Race 6 - Maiden Special Weight for three year olds going six furlongs on the dirt with a purse of $44,000. Improving with every race while moving up in class, Truckee's 2-year-old daughter Fabulous Fey broke her maiden and won the Yavapai Downs Thoroughbred Futurity both at the same time Monday at the Arizona track. The Arizona-bred finished fourth in a maiden special weight race in her first start, then moved into allowance company to finish second in her next outing. In her third race, she won the Futurity. All three races were at Yavapai Downs. In the six-furlong Futurity, Fabulous Fey broke third in the nine-horse field and steadily closed on the leaders, taking charge in mid-stretch to win by 2 1/2 lengths. She's owned by her breeder, Filippo W. Santoro, and is trained by Tom Bartol. Fabulous Fey is the first winner from the third crop of Truckee, foals of 2002. From three crops, he's sired 18 winners, including Appealing Wayz, winner of the Rocky Mountain Futurity. Truckee, a stakes-winning son of Danzig, stands at Magali Farms, Santa Ynez, Calif.--September 10. (Source: The THOROUGHBRED SHOWCASE of the West) Intuit, a 4-year-old son of Truckee, took the overland route but had little trouble handling a field of seven rivals to score an allowance victory Sunday at Del Mar. Intuit raced five wide around the second turn of the one-mile race and came out of it still three wide but moved steadily to the lead and pulled away to win comfortably by two lengths. The winner's share of the $69,640 purse increased Intuit's career earnings to $146,930 in 22 starts that include three wins and six seconds. After four second-place finishes, he broke his maiden in January at Santa Anita and added an allowance win at the same track before running fourth in the Tiznow Stakes at Hollywood Park in his only effort in stakes company. He was bred in California by his owner, Four Quarters Corp. and is trained by Donald Chatlos, Jr. Truckee, a stakes-winning son of Danzig, is the sire of 17 winners and earners of more than $640,000 from his first three crops. The 4-year-old son of Truckee scored his second victory in four 2004 starts Friday, rallied strongly in the stretch to win a $49,000 allowance race at Santa Anita. Although he ran second once at 2 and three more times at 3, Intuit didn''t break his maiden until the first start of his 4-year-old season, when he won at Santa Anita on January 28. After running second at Santa Anita on February 13 and fifth at Golden Gate Fields on March 18, both in allowance company, Intuit got right back to his winning ways in Friday's race, moving from last in the field of seven at the start to fourth swinging wide into the stretch and then into the lead to draw free by a length in the six-furlong race. The win increased Intuit's career earnings to $76,570 for owner-breeder Four Quarters Corporation. His trainer is Brian A. Lynch. Intuit is one of 11 winners of 14 starters from the first crop of Truckee, a stakes-winning son of Danzig who stands at Magali Farms, Santa Ynez.--April 4 (Source: The THOROUGHBRED SHOWCASE of the West) Truckee Warrior by Truckee, out of La Contessa (GB), finished 1st at Golden Gate Fields on Friday, February 20, 2004 in Race 4. This four year old gelding by Truckee won this race of 1 1/16 miles on the dirt going away with a good time of 141+. 100% of Truckee's first foal crop have either won, placed or showed with 57% winners. |
